    Asian Football Confederation - Final Round

    The top nation for each of the semifinal groups received a berth to France '98, with these nations being Saudi Arabia and South Korea. Each of the second place teams had a one game playoff to determine who received the third and final guaranteed berth, and who had to play a home-and-home series with Australia, winner of Oceana, for the shared AFC/Oceana berth.
